Valuable tool for me during baseball season!

Caution !! This is a 3 month subscription! I paid $10.99 for a. Bundle of 4 weather apps. No indication that it was only for 3 months until AFTER purchase was made! Thats why only 1 star for an otherwise useful app.

Love the push notifications when lighting strikes nearby. Ever lifeguard should have this app!

I have been using this app for over a year. Most of the time I use this app I am covering sporting events as an athletic trainer. This app has enabled me to let game officials know well in advance of the need to get indoors BEFORE lightning strikes. Alerts to my phone are almost instant. Well worth the small fee I pay annually. Giving it 4 stars only because sometimes lightning strikes dont show on the map and I wish this was more consistent.

This app started out great. I have a horse farm in an area where summer storms occur daily, and for about a week I thought Id found a great solution to the issue of knowing exactly when and where lightning was striking nearby. Then it stopped alerting me. For three days I never received an alert, even during storms that were on top of my farm. I of course checked and rechecked all my settings, both in the app and on my phone. I emailed support and their advice was to "turn up the volume." I wrote back to say that of course I had checked that, but that the app simply wasnt working. Their response was to thank me for my feedback and tell me theyre always working to improve the app. Yeah, great, good to know. But not even a little bit helpful. So, unless it miraculously starts working again before my first months subscription runs out, Im afraid Ill be canceling and deleting this app. In addition to the lack of alerts, I also find that theres quite a delay between when lightning strikes and when the app registers it. I also use WeatherBug, which has a light in feature, and when a storm is moving my way, that app consistently shows lightning closer to me than LightningCast. WeatherBug doesnt do push notifications, but since LightningCast doesnt always do that either, Im sticking with WeatherBug for now.

Update: July 2015. After initially not working at all, the app produced accurate alerts for several months. Now it has essentially stopped working again, with just random, occasional alerts, even when I am watching ground strikes within a mile or so. Support initially (July 2, 2015) responded that they were having technical problems that they hoped to fix soon. Since then, total silence. I cannot recommend this company or this app.

I have had this app for a few years and it was pretty reliable. Now the app no longer functions at all. My paid subscription doesnt alert and theres lightning bolts all around me today. Cant recommend this app.

Your 3 months are up. Who does that??? Default to 3 months?!

Cant recommend anymore. Like other recent reviewers, Im not getting alerts even when in severe lightning storms. Hope they get it back up to snuff soon.

This was one of the most impressive apps I had. Lightning alerts were accurate and consistent, often alerting within seconds of a lightning strike, hearing the alert during the thunder. But after the update, alerts are late, inconsistent or non-existent. Holding out for a little while longer, hoping they fix the problem and get it back to the way it was working. If not, will be canceling and trying a different app.

Loved the app for the first month, nothing but trouble after that. Entered, rentered and rentered all my info, then started getting bad authentication error messages whatever that means App support not any help I deleted app

Registered & Payed for app. Blank screen of location or distance of strikes. Cant send requests for assistance / help because the app says Im not logged in and wants me to register however shows Im logged in. Wont recommend.

App is good I have a question tried contacting at least 10 times no answer. Any one else have a problem with this, this is no way to make customers happy!

I subscribed for push notifications once my year subscription ended, like I always have, and it was as though I have the free version again. No alerts or push notifications for lightning strikes. Thats what you are actually paying for and it no longer works. Ive sent 8-10 emails to support both through the app and the website with no response. They practically just take your money and you get nothing in return!!!

I paid the subscription twice and the alerts still do not work. Ive emailed support repeatedly and they cant be bothered to even reply. This is fraud!

App fails to display any indication of lightning. It used to. But now the app does not work as advertised.

Just as others are saying here, this app no longer gives notifications. Even worse, tech-support ackknowledged this months ago and never fixed it. Now they have stopped responding altogether. There is an annual subscription fee, and it hasnt worked properly since day one. Folks this is a rip off. and should be removed from the App Store. Save your money, look out your window and use your eyes and ears. They are far more effective than this POS.

I dont know what the problem is with everyone saying this app does not work. On my iPhone 6, it works perfectly. Every time their is a lightning strike within my specified distance, I get an alert. Works flawlessly. Thank you for this app.

I purchase the yearly subscription in March. Every December it says my subscription is up. I restore or purchase again and then in March it says its up again. I contact support several times and they never reply. NEVER! I try to contact apple support and they say they are only a store front and I should contact the apps support.

This seems to be working just fine. I am optimistic on this iPhone6. Other NOAA apps are acting up but... Lifesaver...
